Common misconceptions holding back small business owners
Updated: Jun 21, 2022
Welcome to the Evoke Customs Fleet blog post. This is our first post and we hope you find this blog helpful while you consider getting your commercial vehicle wrapped. First off, how many times have you been on the freeway at a stand still and seen a white delivery van or service truck and wondered what it is that person does, what type of company they are. Are they a plumber or an HVAC technician, are they delivering something? Curiosity is human nature, but If you own a company and have one of those "wrapless" vehicles, this question should concern you.
Why is it that some business owners choose to not wrap their vehicle to advertise their business. When I go to a local store, and I see a delivery van or service truck in the parking lot that is not wrapped, I put a tri-fold and business card on the vehicle. If the owner is near the vehicle I introduce myself and my company. Most people are interested in learning more about wraps, but I do find a few people that have no interest in a vehicle wrap. I can only guess that a couple of the following reasons below are why some people believe a wrap is not for them or their company.
Commercial vehicle wraps are expensive. I love this comment. As a business owner who has found a need and value through advertising on social media, and other sources, a company can spend thousands per month on those advertising outlets, and is a recurring monthly cost. A full custom van or truck wraps can cost anywhere between $1,900 to $4,000, depending on a variety of factors, and can last for years with regular maintenance. This is a one time cost, and if you are on the road often, you can get tens of thousands of eyes each month on your company name, number and the service you provide. All of this for a one time (and potentially tax deductible) cost.
You cannot wrap a leased vehicle. Vehicle wraps are actually a terrific way for you to provide an extra layer of protection to your vehicles paint, and the vinyl can be easily removed when you need to return the vehicle to the dealer.
Commercial vehicle wraps are only for large companies with a fleet.
Increase Market outreach for any size company. According to ARD Ventures, “individual vehicle advertising can generate between 30,000-70,000 daily vehicle impressions.” As a business owner, you cannot afford to miss out on those opportunities to get your company noticed, whether you are a small business owner or large company.
“Mobile advertising generates 2.5 times more attention than a static billboard,” says Perception Research.
“Messages on outdoor mobile billboards have a 97% recall rate,” RYP & Becker Group indicates.
Build Customer Awareness: If you have defined service areas, having a recognizable logo and vehicle graphics will help to establish your brand for customer recognition and loyalty, and will help you gain a competitive edge in your market by establishing your company as a professional within your industry. Numerous studies have consistently shown that people notice the words and images on commercial vehicles, and according to RYP and Becker Group, “Messages on outdoor mobile billboards have a 97% recall rate”.
Get More Sales: Having a more professional appearance with a vehicle wrap will help drive your mobile marketing efforts, and your small business will be impacted positively with brand interest and sales.
Todd Stuart, President of SignZoo.com, recently reported, “We hear stories from customers on a daily basis about how their business increased after wrapping their vehicles. Some tell us that they gained new customers before they even got home with their newly wrapped car, while others literally took an order as soon as they left our offices. One of our customers tracks his job leads and says his sales shot up from $42,000 to $219,000 in 10 months due to his wrapped trucks.”
I don't have a logo or anything creative to put on the vehicle. Working with an experienced wrap company like Evoke, you get the opportunity to have our designers help you create a logo if you don't currently have one. Creating a logo is simple, cost effective and is critical to helping you build your brand across multiple channels. Once we work on creating the logo, we than move towards creating your masterpiece with your input and vision based on the message you wish to convey to your customers.
I am too busy, I don't need to advertise. Believe it or not, I have heard this comment, all I can say is "really?".....
To finish up here, the data is clear that commercial vehicle wraps are a cost effective way to create brand awareness and have been proven to increase revenue through sales. If you don't have a commercial wrap on your vehicle, I have to ask you this question, which misconception above is stopping your from wrapping your vehicle!
